Helping a friend – how Web-Conceptions started

Early in 2007, freelancers at Web-Conceptions were informed about a friend of a friend in Cyprus who commissioned a website and was not at all happy with the level of service and the supposedly finished product – Miltis Boats & Marine Equipment.

After analysing the existing website, Web-Conceptions were shocked that something like this could be worth well over 2,500 euro. They felt it was a disgrace and a genuine rip-off. And it was only for the design and development. No written content, no real functionality, no business or online strategy, no SEO and no Internet marketing.

So Web-Conceptions offered to help, whilst at the same time venture off and test their own freelance abilities, which they were confident was enough to make a much better website. Understanding the clients' predicament – having already paid for a website – they charged very little and focussed on the term "free-lace".

Since the website launched, Miltisboats.com experienced enormous success; Increasing number of unique and returning visitors from key source markets, multiplying sales enquiries and purchasers, as well as added-value customer service. Most impressive were requests from new markets, previously unfamiliar with Miltis Boats & Marine Equipment, such as from Russia and other CIS countries, Eastern Europe, Germany and Scandinavia, namely Sweden and Norway.

Mr Miltis was so happy with his new website and the success it brought for his business, that he commissioned Web-Conceptions to make another website for his second business venture. He also recommended the freelance team to many other contacts.

The start of something special

This story is just an example of how honest hard word, client focus and care can achieve success. Results of their first website inspired the Web-Conceptions duo to continue freelancing web design and development. They were motivated to help those who don't know much about websites or the Internet; people looking for honest developers, truly looking out for their best interests.
